From the deepest, darkest jungles of Leicestershire, The Whiskey Rebellion are a band like no other. Performing a blend of balkan gypsy dance music, celtic folk tunes, and pure unfettered punk, they provide a sweat-laden performance that leaves audiences stunned and gasping for breath. Featuring a line-up including accordion, violin, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and with a live show renowned for its relentless energy and theatricality, this group of hair-brained harlequins are infamous for whipping any crowd into a frenzy of dance and debauchery. Following the release of their debut album Funeral Songs in 2017, the band have been spreading themselves across the UK festival scene, and have just released their latest single "Harlequin King". 

The past few years have seen Blackbeard’s Tea Party play at festivals as diverse as Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival, Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, The Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo and many more. Their most recent release, the 5-track EP ‘Leviathan!’, explores the romanticised glories and the full gruesome horrors of the 19th century whaling industry. The record brings with it a revitalised sound for the band, employing a heftier rhythm section than ever before with a new double-drum set up. Traditional songs and tunes are given a heavy rock edge with earth shattering riffs, playful arrangements and driving dance rhythms. Blackbeard’s Tea Party believe a live music show should be a spectacle for the eyes as well as the ears. Outlandish outfits, costume changes, DIY props, unhinged stage antics and chaotic choreography all add up to an engaging, high-octane show that frequently leaves audiences cheering for more.

The event will be opened by the amazing Inlak'esh, who joined forces with The Whiskey Rebellion this March at Rebelfest. The four-piece from Milton Keynes work tirelessly on creating succulent, ear pleasing yet hard hitting grooves, delivering distinctive albeit confusingly intricate Spanish scale to Arabian influenced melodies and evoking rhythmical senses with punctuated pauses and timely grabs to create shock and awe. Once the ear drums adjust to the fact there are no vocals the toes start tapping, the heads get nodding and the room begins to move to the charm of this multiculturally influenced melting pot of sound.
