Star Events Online is a joint venture between Hangleton Mutual Aid, a Community Interest Company set up to address the needs of people shielding from Covid 19 and continuing thereafter, and Brighton based Television Production Company, Parsley Productions. They first came together to put on a 5 hour comedy festival over Zoom that not only entertained people unable to leave their homes but was the world's first online comedy festival raising much needed money for the charities Age UK, Hangleton Mutual Aid and Time To Talk Befriending. Speaking to a number of UK and international charities it became clear that there was an ongoing demand for live events that connect people whose social interaction is limited either by the current pandemic or by age or long term illness. By partnering with these charities Star Events Online is now reaching out to wider audience to create an online community that can help tackle some of the issues highlighted by the current situation facing the world including loneliness and depression. Star Event Online keeps charity at the heart of what we do and every month donates a percentage of money raised to much needed causes, these causes are decideed and voted on by our audience members and change monthly.
