Originally built as a Victorian coach house, it was transformed in 1984 into one of the smallest theatres in the world — a curious and captivating blend of Japanese and Alpine architecture, with velvet seats, flocked wallpaper, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Now under the creative direction of Allyson Morgan Jones, the Tom Thumb is entering an exciting new chapter, bringing bold, imaginative programming to this beautifully intimate space. Alongside its roots in theatre, comedy, music, cabaret, poetry and film, the theatre is expanding its offering with immersive events, unique experiences, and bespoke private hires, all while continuing to champion emerging voices and experimental work.
