For the London Piano Meetup Group's first informal performance opportunity of 2017, our friends at Steinway Hall have generously allowed us to use their performance space with a Steinway model D (9 ft concert grand) for the afternoon. Join us to play or listen to adult amateur pianists sharing music for an afternoon in a friendly, informal environment.
Time limit for performers: 7 minutes (if we are full for performers, this limit will be enforced to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to play)
Performing slots available: 18
Admission is through pre-booked tickets only, and the ticketing link will close 24 hours before the event, so make sure you reserve your spot in time.
IMPORTANT: Though we are being allowed to use the space for no charge (and therefore the 'tickets' are free on this occasion), please only book a ticket if you can DEFINITELY attend (last minute illness and unpredictable happenings obviously excepted!). LPMG performance events typically sell out in advance of the event date, and as there is no way of reallocating tickets, and we do not run a waiting list, if you book a ticket speculatively and then do not turn up, you may prevent someone else from performing.
The performance space at Steinway Hall is at the back of the showroom - when you arrive, mention that you are there for the London Piano Meetup Group hosted by Rob Foster and head straight on in. There is no food or drink (except water) allowed in the performance space, and please be respectful of customers looking to try out and purchase pianos in the shop.
The London Piano Meetup Group provides a friendly, supportive environment in which to air full pieces, parts of pieces, ‘works-in-progress’, improvisations, own compositions - anything piano related! Instrumentalists with piano accompaniment are also welcome - to arrange any ensembles or accompanists, please go to the group's facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/LondonPMG) and post a message there.
All standards of player (beginners to advanced) are most welcome, especially those who have not attended one of our events before. Nerves when playing in front of other people are normal, regardless of how advanced you are or how long you have been playing, and everyone appreciates the challenges of performing in front of others - there is absolutely no judgement or competitive aspect at LPMG events, only mutual support from fellow performers and audience members.
To be added to the mailing list to be alerted to future events as soon as they are announced, please contact the organisers at email@example.com
For paid tickets, you may also be charged a transaction fee based on your card type. Free tickets are free.
