For No Good Reason

May 31 2014 18:30 - 20:30

The White Space, 5 Great Newport Street , WC2H 7HY London

THE EVENT IS NOW COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TICKETS ON THE DOOR.

Come and join us for this exclusive pop up screening of the new biographical film celebrating the riotous life and caustically brilliant work of Ralph Steadman. Featuring a Q&A with the fimmakers as well as free beer from Flying Dog Brewery (whose labels bear Ralph's fantastic designs), the event takes place in the gallery space which will be adorned with a retrospective of some of Ralph's best work. Come early, have a free drink, explore Ralph's work, then get ready for a trip into the mind of a true original, telling outlandish anecdotes from a life lived with the highest principle in mind: doing things 'for no good reason'!

Made over the course of fifteen years, For No Good Reason explores the connection between life and art through the eyes of British artist Ralph Steadman. Johnny Depp’s lead in this intimate portrait illustrates what makes this artist tick, his fallings out, his love for art and his passion for civil liberties.

The film is a riot of stories and images portraying the wild and dark days of Steadman’s time with Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas writer Hunter S. Thompson, with contributions from Terry Gilliam and Richard E. Grant, plus music from Slash, All American Rejects, Jason Mraz, James Blake, Ed Harcourt and Crystal Castles.

Many thanks to Flying Dog Brewery for their generous support of this screening.
