History Through the Ages Re-enactment

From Celtic to World War 2, experience the living camps, displays, drills and much more as we bring to life the sights and sounds of the different ears of history all contained with the backdrop of our 16th century Turret House and Manor Lodge ruins. There will be:

  • celtic brigantes
  • medieval knights
  • civil war society
  • napolenoic wars soldiers
  • WW2 home guard

as well as children's crafts, bouncy castles and face painting.

Guided tours of the Turret House

11am, 11.30am, 12noon, 3.00pm: (£2 per adult, children free: tickets at the Turret House door: Tours last approx. half an hour)

Re-enactment Performances (in front of the Turret House)

¨ 12.30pm: The Stanleys & the Nevilles: Armoured combat display followed by children’s drill

¨ 1.45pm: Wincobank Brigantes

¨ 2.00pm: English Civil War

¨ 2.30pm: Coldstream Guards 1815: firing demonstrations of the Brown Bess and children’s drill
