'Zine-Making Risograph Workshop

Event ended

'Zine-Making Risograph Workshop

From GBP 79.50

Location

Date

Mar 11 2017 11:00 - 17:00

Description

In this workshop, Libreria’s in-house print specialist, Jess Fogarty, will guide you through the inky fine art of risograph print making. You will learn how to conceptualise, design and print 25 of your own editions of risograph ‘zines, using 3 different colourful inks.

We introduce the class with an exercise to familiarise participants with the technique, playfully experimenting with texture, inventing new forms, shapes and patterns. This will be followed by printing your two colour design on the risograph machine.

You will then select and create a theme for your 'zine, based on Libreria's uniquely curated bookshelves, which are arranged according to broad themes like 'Ways of Seeing', ‘The Sea and the Sky’, ‘Mothers, Madonnas and Whores’, ‘The Future of Life and Death’, ‘Brain and Being’ and ‘Time and Space’. Participants will research their chosen themes in depth and draw inspiration from our bookshelves, with help from Libreria's in-house experts.

After choosing a ‘zine format (from: 8 page 'saddle stitch' / 14 page 'accordion fold' / 16 page 'trombone bind' / 26 page 'accordion fold') and ink colours, you will work from a template on InDesign to create your publication.

Please note all materials are provided for – as is a bottle of chilled beer as a reward after all this hard work.

We will take 30 minutes as a lunch break at 1.30pm.

This workshop is perfect for all people looking to nurture their creativity through risograph printing. However, a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign is necessary to get the most out of the class.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.
