Aug 25 2016 20:00 - 23:00

The Harrison, 28 Harrison St, WC1H 8JF London

Zero Wave presents its second evening in the basement of the Harrison, following on from last year’s evening of small chamber works, Music For One Or Two People. This time round we will bringing a more oneiric programme of sounds and stories, featuring live on stage…

SHARON GAL – improviser, composer, and vocal experimenter, Sharon Gal was one of the founders of Resonance FM and remains a frequent collaborator with David Toop, Steve Beresford, Phil Minton & Lina Lapelyte. Her work has been released by Chocolate Monk, Ash International, Ecstatic Yod, and Tapeworm and is featured in the Wellcome Collection’s current This Is A Voice exhibition.

JOSH SPEAR – composer Josh Spear is a member of the Bastard Assignments group and his music has been performed at Nonclassical, 840, and Tete-a-Tete opera festival.

SYLVIA HALLETT – Multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Sylvia Hallett studied composition with Max Deutsch and has gone on to collaborate with Evan Parker, Anna Homler, Lol Coxhill, and Jah Wobble. She plays the violin, musical saw, accordion, and occasional bicycle wheel.

JULIET JACQUES – Author of Trans – A Memoir (Verso) and columnist for The Guardian and New Statesman, Juliet Jacques is a highly acclaimed author of journalism, criticism, and short fiction.

FAR RAINBOW – improvising duo (electronics + percussion) based in London. "brings to mind the free-spirited electronic kosmische musik that Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius may have created in their Cluster heyday if they had King Tubby rather than Conny Plank producing it.” – We Need No Swords
