Description

We're thrilled to announce our second Zealous Meetup! Creatives across all disciplines are invited to join us for a celebration of collaboration and networking.

If our pilot meetup was anything to go by, a great evening of creative energy, new hellos, inspiration and genuine enthusiasm is in store! Read more about our first meetup here.

Lanre Malaolu (choreographer and co-artistic director, Protocol Dance Company), Lennie Varvarides (creator, DYSPLA and MSFT Management) and Francesc Serra Vila (architect and set designer) will make up our guest panel. They'll share stories of their collaborative experiences and advice on finding the perfect creative partners.

Lanre Malaolu was the movement artist and choreographer on the British Council Film, Dear Mr Shakespeare which was selected for Sundance Film Festival 2017. Last year, he was handpicked from over 1,300 applicants to take part in the Old Vic Theatre's emerging talent scheme, 'Old Vic 12' where he was on placement as a theatre choreographer. Protocol were named first place international winners of 'Festival HOP' 2016, an annual dance festival in Barcelona.

Lennie Varvarides is a playwright and creator of DYSPLA, a company which exhibits and produces the work of dyslexic storymakers. DYSPLA has showcased work internationally, establishing itself at the forefront of the dyslexic and neurodiverse creative community. The next DYSPLA International Moving Image Festival will take place in London in November 2017. Lennie also runs MSFT Management, a boutique casting agency representing multi-skilled artists across the UK.

Francesc Serra Vila works mainly in site-specific installations, design for performances and interactive sculptures. His work is driven by his love of physics, materials, structures and movement. He ensures that each of his projects are immersive, site specific and evolving. Francesc’s work developed on his own or in collaboration with other artists (choreographers, sound and lighting designers), has been presented in cities including Barcelona, Brussels, Cardiff and London.

We caught up with them for a rapid-fire Q&A recently - check it out!

We'll encourage interaction between attendees on the night. Some free drinks and light refreshments will also be available.

Nearest tubes: Tottenham Court Road, Goodge St., Warren Street.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
