Yoga for the Spine: a workshop

Sep 21 2019 11:30 - 13:30

11 Pember Rd, NW10 5LN London

The Workshop

This 2 hour workshop is an opportunity for your Yoga practice to become more therapeutic through an adventure into spinal movements. It will give you greater integrity back arching, improved function forward bending and more expression twisting & side bending. We will explore how to engage Yoga in a way that unlocks energy rather than depletes it, to create more freedom throughout the Whole Self.

Teacher’s credentials

Imogen has seen both the benefits and the consequences of physical Yoga on the spine. Practiced with integrity, Yoga can nourish the body and soul, but conversely a lack of understanding can cause injury and energy depletion. This workshop is prompted by her most recent training with physiotherapist and master Yoga Teacher Simon Borg Olivier, which she undergoes as a result of specialising in 1/1 yoga instruction, often for those with injuries or limitations. Imogen piloted and developed a yoga programme with the physiotherapy team at Mildmay hospital which she has taught for 4+ years. Her passion lies in the loving exchange that takes place in the symbiotic relationship between teacher and student, each lesson a joint exploration of the perfect naturalness and mystery of being embodied.
