Description
Taught by award-winning short story writer, Zoe Gilbert, and author Lily Dunn, this two-day course will teach you everything you need to know about writing and editing short stories, and hopefully by the end of the weekend you'll have one that's well on its way to being finished.
On day one, we’ll kick off by exploring ways to turn our ideas into full stories, from getting first words down to finishing a draft. You will then have ample time and space (and tea and cake) to write, in the quiet company of fellow scribblers.
On day two, we will work through a series of editing approaches, which you will be able to apply to your own work. Think of these as a series of editorial experiments that will throw new light on plot, style, characterisation, setting, dialogue, openings and endings.
This course is suitable for both beginners and committed writers. By the end of the course you will have a draft piece of work, and a range of editing skills you’ll be ready to apply to it!
Lunch on both days included. Find out more about the course here: http://www.londonlitlab.co.uk/?page_id=343
