Description
Being a singer in Covid times:
Apart from the obvious financial concerns, what does this situation mean for singer’s sense of self and general wellbeing, both physically and psychologically?
What effect does lack of work have on motivation to practise?
It is incomprehensible to imagine that singing, one of the most basic forms of communication and expressivity could be considered dangerous, or that work and rehearsals would cease, literally, overnight.
The aim of this workshop is to offer participants the chance to reflect on what it means to be a singer. Using evidence-based research and interventions, participants will be encouraged to explore ways in which they can adapt to a changing work environment.
The Webinar will take place on the Zoom Platform and feature a presentation, some voluntary group work and with a Q&A session to finish.
The Artistic Coordinator of WOW, Dominic J. Walsh, himself an operatic tenor, will act as facilitator.
