We might take food for granted because we’re faced with it every day. But when we ask our bodies to train for something extra, on top of the demands of everyday life, food becomes fuel more than ever before, and we shouldn’t expect to perform without it - your body needs the right food to function, both mentally and physically. Although, it’s not always easy to know what’s what, when to eat, what’s best to make quickly after a run before bed, or whether your shopping trolley ticks the right boxes for a body in training.
To make more sense of the world of nutrition, WMN RUN will be hosting a 90 minute make, taste and talk afternoon with nutritionist, and author of Go Faster Food, Kate Percy, in partnership with Meridian Foods and Energy Lab BTS. On Saturday 20th February Kate will be sharing her wealth of food knowledge, as she brings sports nutrition principles into the everyday for runners, be it learning how to aid performance, or to help with general well-being. We'll be touching on how to fuel for long runs and race day, discussing about some of the top foods for endurance training, learning recipes, and making a selection of energy bars and smoothies, followed by sampling our creations (of course).
