Us girls love a night out don’t we, but in this day and age with the pressures of social media and getting that perfect photo in the perfect outfit, at the perfect angle, in the perfect location there’s a lot of pressure to look good.
This can be hugely draining on your confidence and from what I’m learning, on your mental health too, which I know a lot about and so what if there was a night out where you could get advice on wearing the right clothes for your body shape, advice on hair, make up, confidence from within, shopping, nibbles and gin (or a mocktail, whatever your preference)?Sounds perfect right?
On 20 September, Alex Showers (that’s me), Image Consultant and founder of Facebook group Wear Who You Want To Be is hosting an event that encapsulates the things that make women feel the least confident by getting all the professionals in one room to answer your questions.
The idea for ‘Who’s That Girl’ was born out of hosting a ‘girls night in’ at home, with online boutique Born at Dawn, but it just didn’t seem enough.I wanted to reach more women and spread the word about feeling confident in what you wear and how you wear it.It is a huge passion of mine and I feel every woman deserves to feel amazing in what she wears.Tag onto that the other areas that women struggle with in general, hair, make up and confidence, it seemed only right to host the ultimate girls night out and Who’s That Girl was born.
Apart from lots of fun and a buzzing atmosphere, this is what’s going on on the night:
- Talk and Q&A with a panel of experts available to answer your burning questions on fashion, make up, hair and confidence
- Showcasing of clothes from online boutique Born at Dawn and a talk around staples items and your winter wardrobe
- 10% discount on the night from the Born at Dawn collection and the opportunity to play around with the clothes and have some fun trying them on
- Goodie bag
- Complimentary drink on arrival
Alex Showers aka wear who you want to be will be talking fashion, how to use it to build your confidence, expressing yourself and not caring what you wear, plus with LFW just finished, we’ll be talking through some new trends for AW18 with Born at Dawn
Lauren Derrett aka This Girl is Enough will be talking confidence from the inside. The honest, unashamedly, unapologetic, potty mouth, has stories galore on growing your confidence and not giving a *&%! what anyone else thinks
Dani Chilten will be talking make up.This uber cool chick knows no boundaries when it comes to make up and what she doesn’t know about it, just isn’t worth knowing. From skincare to basting, ask her anything
Hair, still finalising, but he's gonna be a goodie
So what are you waiting for? Tell your girls, get your partner to look after the kids and grab your ticket here - early bird tickets will be available until 26 July.
