Join textiles designer and founder of Embellished Talk in a 2 hour embroidery workshop. Learn the basics of hand embroidery; how to transfer a design, split the thread, thread a needle and different stitches. Tote bags will be provided for you to stitch on or bring your own item of clothing to decorate. All levels are welcome and all equipment will be provided. West Elm is a perfect place to be inspired by for craft and surface decoration.
Rebeckah graduated with a degree in Fashion Textiles at the London College of Fashion in 2007 and has since been perfecting her skills in hand embroidery and embellishments. She’s collaborated with GURLS TALK the platform founded by fashion model Adwoa Aboah. Previous workshops have taken place at WAH Nails, Boxpark Shoreditch, Palm Vaults, WeWork, Warehouse, Second Home and Lush. Her workshops have been featured in British Vogue and Time Out.
What else is included in the workshop you ask?
- A goody bag of sewing treats to continue your new skills at home
- A cotton tote bag to work on during the workshop, feel free to bring in your own item of clothing to stitch on
- A break away from your phones and busy schedules. Using your hands is therapeutic, confidence boosting and good for your well-being
- An opportunity to learn new skills in an intimate setting that you can develop in your own time and add new personalised life to your clothes or interiors
