    OPENING NIGHT 1ST AUGUST

    CLOSING NIGHT 29TH AUGUST

A participatory photography/storytelling project by photographer Mareike Günsche and the HIV community.

Commissioned by the Bristol Photo Festival/Brigstow Institute, 'We Are Still Here' explores the lived realities of the HIV community, celebrating the lives and struggles of those living with the virus. The project utilises photography and the participants' own stories, told in their own voices. To make the 21 stories accessible, we used QR codes as well as written text, all accessible through the homepage.

This project was exhibited at the Bristol Photo Festival (2021), in Montreal for AIDS 2022, and at the Power of Women Festival in Thanet (2024).
