Description

Wake Up Gigs is back!

We've been busy beavering away since December, working on our most special show, and are delighted that the incredible NICK MULVEY will be headlining our next show on Sunday 3 June. We've also moved to OMEARA and brought all the best bits of our previous shows with us.

So, what do you need to know:

What is a Wake Up Gig? Our gigs showcase new artists for parents to enjoy live music and the gig experience in a relaxed atmosphere, a parent friendly venue and at parent friendly times. All ages are welcome. Wake Up Gigs is run by Sarada and Adam, with able assistance from their two year old, Edwin.

Date: Sunday 3 June. Time: 13:00 - 16:00. Venue: OMEARA, SE1 1TE.

Artists: Nick Mulvey is not only an amazing artist but the timing of this show feels particularly appropriate as he has became a father for the second time only a couple of weeks ago - so is more than familiar with all the joys that come with becoming a parent and the impact it can have on life including experiencing live music. Nick will be playing a short UK tour in May, including headlining his biggest show so far at the Royal Albert Hall and then a couple of weeks later we are lucky to have him play for us in the intimate surroundings of OMEARA. As if there weren't enough clues that this show was simply meant to be, his most recent album is called Wake Up Now - and we can't wait to welcome him to our stage.Nick will be joined by upcoming artist, ROB.GREEN.

Venue: OMEARA is one of London's newest venues, opening in late 2016, and has already been hailed as one of London's best small venues. It is also seamlessly connected to Flat Iron Square, which gives you easy access to the Cantina bar and 10 food trader pop ups. The venue is well located, just behind Borough market and nearby to London Bridge underground station.

Parent Friendly Stuff: Two fantastic sets of live music of between 30-45 minutes each, between the bands - the best mix of new music (selected by Adam) and songs you can dance to (selected by Sarada). As parents ourselves, we also want to make this as convenient and relaxing for you as possible, so we'll be bringing all the best bits of our previous shows with us to OMEARA - buggy storage, licensed bar and choice of ten eclectic food traders in Flat Iron Square, fully stocked baby changing facilities and Banz ear defenders onsale if you need them.

Child friendly stuff: This might well be your child's first ever maybe your first ever experience of live music. You'll always remember your first gig - and this will be an amazing story for the next generation to tell! Plus a soft play corner, arts and crafts, colouring in of your favourite pop stars. A venue that is not too dark, not too crowded and not too noisy (BUT please bear in mind this is a live music concert so there will be plugged in instruments and amplifiers)!

Finally - IMPORTANT BIT: This is a show for parents (including carers and wider family) and their children ONLY. No adult will be admitted without accompanying children. All ticket orders must include child tickets (select from age group below) and any parent/guardian only ticket orders will be cancelled. This will be strictly enforced and there are no refunds available. If you have any questions, please do contact us via the links above.
