Vulture Sessions is back! We're hosting a live acoustic series to connect Oxford's original talent with a student audience.
We begin with two assured, established pianists and vocalists in the shape of Calӱpso and Barnaby Wynter with a guest appearance by Harry Manley.
TICKETS £6.50 // Doors 7pm
INTRO GUEST ACT: After training as a classical guitarist, Harry Manley (St Catz) took on new horizons, following the fingerstyle kings. He's now also performing compositions of his own, with a creativity to match his virtuosity.
ACT 1: At the age of five, Barnaby Wynter (St Peters) became addicted to Sarah Vaughan and her vibrato. Since then he has aspired to become a jazz singer and spent most of his recently completed degree sitting in smoky rooms, stroking his vocal chords. For Vulture, Barnaby will be presenting a mixture of covers and originals in the jazz vein.
ACT 2: Calÿpso (Queens) is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter from Salisbury, based in Oxford. Influences include Leonard Cohen, Carol King, Rufus Wainwright and Laura Marling. Her songs have been described as “unashamedly sad”. She is currently working on an EP with producer Chris Binns, which she intends to release within the next year.
