VoxSling
Singing workshops for pregnant and new mothers (with babes in arms/slings - under 8 months) with part harmony songs, gentle movement and breathwork.
Following a fully booked pilot course at Clifton Centre, this new project from Tara Franks (founder of Tots Tunes & Vox Voices) will run again over 4 weeks this March in a new cosy accessible venue.
4-week course
@ The Crown, Old Town, Hastings
Tuesdays 10 - 11am
3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th March
Arrive10am to gather & chat
Singing starts 10.15am
Suitable for pregnant mothers and carers with babes-in-arms (pre walkers - upto 9 months)
Participants are encouraged to join the full course and attend as many courses as they wish as the singing work will be built from course to course, supporting both return singers and new people to the group.
Drop in places are available, please email to check availability of space when booking.
This 4-week course is part subsidised by Sound Connections keeping ticket costs low - standard rate & supported rate. If payment is a barrier to attending the course please get in touch.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Tara will lead the group through a series of gentle breathing exercises and some movement along wit the singing (you don't need to be a confident singer to join!)
We will learn a collection of easy yet satisfying part harmony songs - so you will have a bank of songs to continuing singing at home
These workshops are for you the parents, with your babes in arms also being bathed in sound
Why singing? - there is so much research into the benefits of singing for new mothers, and in turn the support singing can have on language and emotional development of your child and soon to be born child.

This first 4 week course is FREE and open to all to join
Advance booking required as space is limited.

Yes, come with your babes-in-arms (pre walkers/9 months and below) - this is for both of you!
Yes, come if you are pregnant to sing for you and your baby and meet new local mothers.
We encourage new mothers with babes-in-arms to come with a sling - however buggies can fit in the space if you use a buggy not sling.
Singing will start at 11.45 however you can come from 11.30 to meet other people and have a cup of tea
As long as there is space in the room no one will be turned away at the door, all welcomed
Feel free to bring mat/blanket to sit on

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you.
