Greenpeace Waltham Forest and Greenpeace Shoreditch present Viva a Amazônia! A night of sumptuous live music and saving the Amazon!
We're raising funds for Greenpeace's campaign to stop the building of the Tapajós dam in the Brazilian Amazon, which is threatening to flood a part of the Amazon the size of New York, displace an indigenous community and wipe out many endangered species.
The Munduruku, who have lived there for thousands of years, have invited Greenpeace to join their campaign to secure their land rights and stop the dam. This summer 40 Greenpeace volunteers from across the world, will travel to the Amazon to map the boundaries of their land - an essential task in their battle for land rights - and help communicate their campaign around the world.
