“VISUAL POETRY : Finding the Words to Bring Images to Life”

with Paul Sanders

2 SESSIONS

THURSDAY September 17 at 10am

THURSDAY OCTOBER 1 at 10am

“Join photographer and mentor Paul Sanders for a two-part online workshop, “Visual Poetry: Finding the Words to Bring Images to Life.” Over two sessions, Paul will explore the importance of learning to verbalise what a photograph expresses and how words can deepen our understanding and expression of our own photographic images. He will guide participants through practical exercises and discussion before setting a creative assignment to be completed over the following two weeks. In the final session, participants, who wish to, will share their work, a single image paired with accompanying text, presented as a Keynote slide or PDF, bringing together words and your chosen image in a personal way.”

About Paul,

Paul’s approach to landscape photography is one of mindful connection. After looking at nearly 20,000 images every day during his years at the Times, his own work is made in response to his emotional and spiritual reactions to the locations he visits and reflect the sense of stillness and calm he feels whilst on location. The creation of the photograph is only half the story, as Paul is also passionate about printing. ‘I believe that a photograph should be viewed as a print to correctly appreciate it’, he says.Paul’s, beautiful, highly reflective work has been exhibited widely across the UK, Europe & Japan.
