Visions is an 18+ event.
On August 8th 2015, VISIONS festival returns for its third year following the success of the first two sell-out events, taking place across different warehouse venues, spaces and outdoor areas in London Fields.
The last two years of the festival have seen special performances from the likes Poliça, !!!, Young Fathers, Andrew WK, Sophie, Cloud Nothings, F*cked Up, Perfume Genius, Songhoy Blues, and many more acts from across the world. VISIONS festival is today excited to announce its first names for the music line-up for what looks set to be its best year yet.
A diverse and international affair, Visions will again welcome a host of innovative and talented US acts: Brooklyn's The Antlers, the California-based husband-and-wife duo Peaking Lights and Matador-signed hardcore punk band Ceremony all appear. Electro-pop artist Son Lux and Torn Hawk, aka Luke Wyatt, complete the trans-Atlantic contingent. From closer climes, Visions is delighted to welcome one of the UK's most thrilling and exciting live acts, Fat White Family to the festival, alongside motorik pysch-merchants Toy and Rough Trade's exciting four-piece noise rock band Girl Band. Elsewhere, the fast-rising garage Spanish rock girl group Hinds join the bill, together with London newcomer Jones, Manchester-based producer Andy Stott and young electronica talent Luke Abbott. More music acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
Music will only be one offering. The DIY and artistic nature of the event will be showcased by exhibitions and installations from local artists.Visions also houses a special Street Food festival, other one-off market stalls, a screen print class and more special events and contributors for this year's event are still be announced.
Focusing on accessibility and highly alternative entertainment, the festival remains a fairly priced ticket (£30), with a wealth of different acts to see and things to do in some of city's best new venues and spaces smack bang in the middle of the void of London in the mid-summer. This year the festival have added new areas, including the Space Gallery Courtyard, and St John in Hackney Church, with many more acts and happenings at the festival still to be revealed in the coming weeks.
