VIRTUAL PLANT LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP

VIRTUAL PLANT LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP

From GBP 10.00

Description

"Your intuitive powers increase when you are with plants because your mind is silenced and you become more aware in the present moment.”  Sanchita Pandey

Introduction

During this time of great change and uncertainty many of us have felt soothed, uplifted and grounded by the Natural world both inside and outside.  During this challenging time nature has taken on a deeper importance in our lives.  Many feel more awakened to our interconnectivity with and gratitude for the creativity of Nature to keep us healthy and nourished.

After over 7 years of hosting our PATTERNTY workshops in person and feeling increasingly limited to venues in London we are excited to be able to invite our PATTERNIST Community around the globe to join us for our beloved 'Plant Life Drawing Workshop' – now available online from the comfort of your own home!

Learning

Together we'll be taking some deep breaths and marvelling at the inspiring patterns and textures of humble house plants and blooms. We invite you to take an hour or so away from your busy to-do lists to marvel the beauty of the spaces in-between leaves, stalks and petals. We'll be zooming in as we celebrate the inspiring and interconnected textures and ponder the plant and flower patterns which curiously repeat in our own human anatomy.

Flow + timings

We will begin with a short 10 minute talk from PATTERNITY cofounder Anna Murray about her love for Nature and the value of seeing and feeling the beauty of patterns that surround us. The talk will be followed by 45 minutes of varied drawing exercises and we will close with a 15 minute reflective exercise, followed by a closing and time for sharing and a short Q&A. We have left some space at the end for conversation for those not zoomed out!

Preparation + Materials

All you will need is an arrangement on a table or clear surface of several house plants and / or flowers and leaves if you are inside – or an area of diverse flora and fauna if you are outside.

Please bring your own drawing kits, a variety of papers, pens, pencils, paints as you wish.

*This workshop is designed to be supportive, inclusive and suitable for everyone - from beginners to more advanced drawers and those from 'non-creative' backgrounds (we believe everyone is naturally creative!)

Pricing + Accessibility

A Zoom link will be sent 1 hour prior to the live workshop

To make this as accessible as possible, exchange for participation will be available on a sliding scale. If cost is a barrier to attend, please reach out (anna@patternity.org), especially if you are a member of a marginalised community.

* Ticket price includes a 10% donation to The Black Land And Spacial Justice Fund

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
