Moscow-based Saida Ibrahimava and Karolina Mazetyte, living in Malmö, started Youth to Youth Initiative 2015 and have quickly built a dedicated, international network of young social leaders. In an inspiring lecture, they share the insights on how to build a successful international network. How to enable grassroots organizations to collaborate across borders, bridging cultural differences and navigating in an erratic political terrain. And why social innovation and sustainable urban development depend on committed citizens, civil society organizations and grassroots movements.
The event is mainly aimed at groups and individuals who are interested in international organizations and grassroots movements. But also to entrepreneurs, organizations and authorities who want to learn how to collaborate and learn from each other.
Youth to Youth Initiative (Y2Y) was named 2016 as the world's third most influential social innovation network of the Social Enabler Index (http://socialenablers.co/se100/). The concept of annual conferences and summer schools and active alumni work has created strong and influential global networks.
Saida Ibrahimava, born in Belarus, has more than ten years of successful experience in the non-profit sector and more than five years working experience for governmental institutions. Hun har implementeret en række projekter innen social integration, ungdomsudvikling, uddannelse, sport og frivillige rörelser. She holds a BA in International Relations from the Belarusian State University, and a MA in International Economy and Politics from the Charles University in Prague.
Karoline Mazetyte, Originally from Lithuania, is the co-founder and president of International Youth to Youth initiative. Karolina is also involved in volunteering for various initiatives that inspire youth towards growth and has been the reason for many to gain opportunities as well. She was the first European Peace Summit Coordinator at the World Peace Initiative Foundation. She has been teaching meditation, mindfulness and stress management courses: '' The Sustainable Self in an Urban Environment ''.
