Description

At #UPFRONT we believe that speech is power. It is more important than ever before for self-identifying women to have the ability to influence, persuade and inspire. All self-identifying women are welcome - extroverts, introverts and everything in between. Of course, we encourage those who are naturally quiet, shy or introverted because we know that you don’t often push yourselves forward into the limelight but it’s time for you to get those brilliant, creative ideas out into the world!

Our aim is for you to leave feeling the most confident you've ever felt, equipped with new tools to use when speaking in public, in meetings or networking situations, in a pitch or around the dinner table.

What will you learn?

  • What makes you remarkable? Yes, you are
  • How to feel more confident at work and at home? Yes, both are equally important
  • Learn what professional visibility looks like (Hint; it looks different for everyone)
  • Learn the who, what, where and why of Imposter Syndrome (Yes, we all have it)
  • Understand women's low confidence as a consequence of our environment and the patriarchy (Yes, it's another thing we're made to feel guilty about)
  • How to introduce yourself?
  • How to strengthen your voice?
  • How to give yourself status?
  • How to combat nerves?
  • This workshop is restricted to 15 people

All our work is underpinned by these principles:

  • You can’t be what you can’t see
  • We believe that confidence can be learned and it IS within your reach
  • Confidence is not a gift from the gods
  • We know that you lack nothing
  • We’re all responsible for being a good audience
  • We all have power, even if we can’t feel it
  • Include yourself and others
  • One way we learn confidence is by understanding our bodies
  • You’re you — with your individual knowledge and your unique experiences and your unique brain
  • You’re the one the world wants to hear from

This workshop will be designed and facilitated by award-winning designer, public speaker and entrepreneur, Lauren Currie and Suha Al-Khayyat; a professional theatre maker from our global network. We can't wait to meet you!

“It was a really amazing day. Ranging from practical tips that will definitely help navigate nerves and pitfalls next time I speak in public to more intangible, but really awesome boosting of confidence and mutual appreciation.”

"This has completely changed my life - thank you"

    FAQ

    • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

    • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

    • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

    • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

    • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
