Description

Do you work in the arts?

Do you want to do something about Brexit?

But you don’t know what? And with whom?

Then join us for Unite Against Dividers, a weekend full of activities, debates and questions about what the arts should do after the EU referendum. Hear from people who have recently started to organise, been in the game for a while or even do politics for a living.

For Saturday, we have organised a wide range of conversational starting points around urgent questions. We start with a Brexit means Breakfast brunch at 11am and continue with group debates and presentations with contributions from:

Miguel Amado, Another Europe Is Possible, Artists’ Union England, Edwina Bruford, Black Blossoms, Common Vision, Counterpoints Arts, EUROPA, Dr. Charlotte Fereday (code first: girls), Rose Gibbs, Laura Gordon, Emily Hesse, Fozia Ismail, Sophie Chapman & Kerri Jefferis, Shiv Malik, Make Votes Matter, Migrant Voices, More United, Hettie O’Brien, Tobi Oredein (Black Ballad), 1 Day Without Us, Alicja Rogalska, They Are Here (Harun Morrison & Helen Walker), Georgia Twigg and Julie Ward MEP

The day finishes with an arts parliament.

A full schedule of the day can be found here.

Please bring a cup and a plate to help us reduce waste.

Please note that the programme might change and some activities on Sunday require separate booking. The full Unite Against Dividers programme is on our website. To keep updated, follow @GBisNoisland or keepItcomplex on insta.

If you need a free ticket, email us keepitcomplex2016@gmail.com.

Children welcome! We can offer onsite childcare on Saturday from 1pm to 5pm (provided by Little Kunst) for children from 6 months to 5 years. If you would like to book a place, please email us by Thursday 5th January keepitcomplex2016@gmail.com.

The venue on Saturday is wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific access needs, please get in touch.

We will also publish a handbook which will declare our budget, share contacts and provide other useful information. Add to our reading list here.

Unite Against Dividers is organised by Keep It Complex, a group of women artists, designers and arts administrators. We bring together cultural workers who to take a stand against our current white dick politics, from Brexit to Bannon. Keep It Complex formed out of the Britain Is Not An Island campaign which we ran during the EU referendum. www.makeitclear.eu. Find us on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Insta.

Keep It Complex is a starting point. Keep It Complex is our tool to get involved in everyday politics. We’re using art to have conversations with people we disagree with.
