Description
UBALDO BARTOLINI MY ARCADIA Curata da Luca Tommasi
October 14 – November 19, 2025
Opening: Monday, October 13, 6:30 PM
Ubaldo Bartolini’s solo exhibition My Arcadia, featuring a selection of 12 oil-on-canvas works created specifically for this London event in the current year, pays tribute to the artist whose works are part of the Farnesina Collection of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome.
Born in Montappone (Ascoli Piceno), in the Marche region, in 1944, Bartolini was one of the founders of the art movement termed “Anachronism” by Maurizio Calvesi, alongside Carlo Maria Mariani, Alberto Abate, Stefano Di Stasio, and others.
Bartolini has exhibited his works in over 70 solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums worldwide. At the 41st Venice Biennale, he was granted a dedicated room, and he was included in the group exhibition Novecento, Art and History in Italy held at the Scuderie del Quirinale. This year, he returns to London, where in 1984 he exhibited in the show Anachronism, Hyper-Mannerism, Pittura Colta at the Edward Totah Gallery. Over nearly 60 years of activity, the artist has gone from early conceptual experiments to a redefinition of the landscape concept. Starting from classical influences, his work gradually shed realistic connotations to become a representation of pure inner impulses.
