Type Tuesday: Max Gill and maps – with Adam Dant, Caroline Walker and City ID

In association with the Museum of Art + Craft, Ditchling, whose latest exhibition is ‘Max Gill: Wonderground Man’.

Tuesday 4 December 2018 in the Bridewell Hall 7-9.30pm

The last Type Tuesday of the year will be a seasonal celebration of cartographic creativity.

The evening features three expert guests: Cal Jepps, senior designer at City ID (Moscow Metro, etc.); Adam Dant, artist and map-maker extraordinaire; and Caroline Walker, great niece of MacDonald (Max) Gill and co-curator of the current exhibition at the Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft.

Caroline, Cal and Adam will finish with an informal panel chaired by Eye editor John L. Walters.

Read more about City ID in ‘Moscow by type’ in Eye 90, about how the wayfinding experts commissioned A2-Type to make the Moscow Metro’s first typeface and pictogram system.

There will be a stall where you can buy the latest issue (Eye 97, the second of two magazine specials), bargain back issues and recent publications by Dant and Walker.
