HJC presents 'Tristan - Internal Dialogue" Led by pianist Tristan Wills, this trio brings together piano, double bass and drums for an intimate, raw set of modern jazz.

The music moves between atmospheric, reflective moments and more energetic, interactive passages, shaped in real time by the group. Rooted in contemporary jazz but with subtle influences from artists like Radiohead, the set leans into texture, space and spontaneity. Mostly instrumental, with a few vocal moments woven in, it’s music that feels honest and unpolished in the best way — focused on connection, interplay, and letting things unfold naturally.

Tristan Wills is a distinguished jazz pianist and composer, recently relocated from Perth, Western Australia to the vibrant city of London. With over a decade of professional experience, Tristan has captivated audiences across the globe, performing in renowned cities such as Paris, Spain, London, Germany, Melbourne, and Perth.

A versatile musician, Tristan has an impressive discography that includes six recorded albums. His projects span a variety of genres, showcasing his adaptability and broad musical expertise. Notable albums include "The Genesis Project", (a jazz quintet exploring the biblical story of Genesis).

"Internal Dialogue" (reflective jazz quartet), "Losing What’s Not Mine" (a soulful singer songwriter album, accompanied by strings), and (a solo jazz piano album).

Tristan's compositions are known for their sensitivity, freedom, and innovative improvisational avenues. His music is deeply influenced by luminaries such as Ambrose Akinmusire, Walter Smith III, Avishai Cohen, Aaron Parks, Bon Iver, Ben Howard, and Lizzy McAlpine. These influences shape his unique sound, which blends traditional jazz with modern contemporary elements, creating a captivating and dynamic listening experience.

Now based in London, Tristan is excited to bring his exceptional improvisational skills, creative compositions, and engaging performances to new audiences. Known for his professionalism, organisation, and collaborative spirit, Tristan is a sought-after pianist whose performances promise to bring class and elegance to any event.

As Tristan embarks on this new chapter in London, he looks forward to contributing to the city's rich musical tapestry and continuing to innovate within the jazz and contemporary music scenes.
