Featuring
*** FlashFires ***
FlashFires are a five-piece alternative rock band that has undoubtedly been making waves, not only in their native UK but across the Atlantic too.
With explosive guitar riffs and infectious melodies, the band began turning heads back home with impressive support slots at sold-out shows for the likes of Ash, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Subways. It was not long before this young, polished quintet caught the attention of Brian Wheat of US rock legends Tesla, who invited them out to Sacramento, California to record at his multi-million dollar J Street studio.
So impressed by the talent of the group, a management deal with Wheat ensued, and FlashFires have not looked back. From attracting Led Zeppelin guitar god Jimmy Page to one of their London shows, to having singles ‘Shy’ and ‘Manshark’ played on both BBC Radio 1 and 2, it seems the growing hype surrounding this outfit is not going away any time soon.
***New York Brass Band***
Mind blowing, energy fuelled, New Orleans inspired Brass band. Hailing from the ancient streets of York the band has been burning up the festival scene since 2011. The band is a powerful team of some of Yorkshire's finest musicians packing an aresenal of percussion, sax, trumpets, trombones and sousaphone. NYBB blur the line between band and audience by inviting the crowd to become part of the show and inevitbly dancing on tables by both bands and audience ensues!
Not to be missed!
***The Lagan***
LONDON - IRISH - CELTIC - PUNK
After forming initially in 2008 as a "[mal]function" band that would go and play drunken folk songs at parties in exchange for some booze, The Lagan became something of an urban myth: a potentially great band that was only held back by the fact that they didn't rehearse, and didn't have any songs, and didn't play any shows. But following a drunken trip to the USA in 2009 (see "Sunny Day In Southie" on our debut album for a detailed account of that particular trip) where they saw London's own Biblecode Sundays perform in a Boston bar, it became clear what had to be done. And so, friends who could play instruments were dragged out of the local boozer in Kingston-Upon-Thames and assembled to form a mighty racket and overall, to have fun.
In 2013, The Lagan released their debut album "Where's Your Messiah Now?" on Banquet Records, and embarked on epic tours across the land, and lands beyond the land as well. All the while, still having fun, and usually, quite drunk indeed.
