Description

Tots Gigs Sunday special presents: Quest Ensemble and Somang Lee

A daytime gig for parents, and little ones with discerning musical taste!

A SoundsCreative Projects event

For all parents who miss going to gigs in the evening! Tots Gigs is a series of acoustic gigs for parents, with babies/toddlers in tow.

Bringing to the stage an eclectic mix of established & emerging musicians from the London world, folk and contemporary music scene - from percussive alt-folk via classical minimalism to high-energy experimental creativity - every month we programme a new artist/band to perform so there is music for all tastes.

These relaxed, inspiring and intimate gigs are for appreciative audiences of parents along with sleeping, feeding, wandering, dancing tots.

In addition to our Monthly Tuesday morning gigs in Stoke Newington, this gig is a special pop up Sunday gig in a beautiful East London location.

Tots Gigs goers say ...

"Wonderful to hear real, live music and share this with out little ones"

"Thank you! – LOVED IT! Such a pleasure to see such talented performers who interacted so well with the kids too"

QUEST ENSEMBLE AND SOMANG LEE

SUNDAY 11th November @ Sutton House 11am

For this one off Sunday gig we bring contemporary trio Quest Ensemble to the stage alongside live visuals from Somang Lee.

Quest Ensemble (Filipe Sousa - piano, Tara Franks - cello, Preetha Narayanan - violin) collaboratively create original work, seamlessly blending improvisation with devised composition. Drawing on influences as broad as the contemporary minimalism of John Adams and Steve Reich to medieval plainchant, the experimental melancholic textures of Radiohead to the progressive jazz precision of Brad Mehldau, their lyrical melodic lines, rich harmonies and interwoven rhythmic counterpoint place the trio in a unique musical landscape between chamber, jazz, folk and 20th century classical music.

Fresh back from performing a newly commissioned show at CCB, Lisbon as part of the 'Big Bang' festival, the trio will play a special set of music with live ink projections from visual artist Somang Lee.
