For all parents who miss going to gigs in the evening, Tots Gigs is a monthly morning series of acoustic gigs for parents with babies/toddlers in tow.

Each month we bring to the stage an eclectic mix of established & emerging musicians from the London world, folk  and contemporary music scene. From percussive alt-folk via classical minimalism to high-energy experimental creativity, we always programme a new artist/band to perform so there is music for all tastes.

These relaxed, inspiring and intimate gigs are for appreciative audiences of parents along with sleeping, feeding, wandering, dancing tots.

SoundsCreative Projects is working in collaboration with The Nest Collective to bring the brightest and best of folk, world and new music performers to the Tots Gigs stage.

The Magic Lantern

As featured on BBC 6 Music, The Magic Lantern is the musical moniker of singer-songwriter Jamie Doe,  an artist dedicated to remedying the anxiety and fear present in everyone.

His second album ‘Love of Too Much Living’ was championed by The Guardian, BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction and BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne among many others.

He has just released his much lauded and beautifully crafted third album ‘To the Islands'.

Performing on Tuesday 5th March:

Fiona Fey

Fiona Fey’s songwriting skilfully navigates between many worlds, from deep-rooted Psychedelic Folk songs to ornate Chamber Pop, she brings her witty charm and a critical gaze to everyday life. Her lyrics walk a high-wire between the sublime, the political, and the ridiculous, exploring the worlds of homelessness, advertising, and anti-feminist bees with equal candour. Her upcoming album Naive Wisdom incorporates all Fiona’s disparate influences into a set of powerful of songs that are bound to enthral and move anybody a little odd.

Performing on Tuesday 16th April

Balladeste

This month Tots Gigs & Tots Tunes creator, cellist Tara Franks will perform a special set with string duo partner and virtuoso violinist Preetha Narayanan

A long term collaboration between these two performer/composers - Balladeste - is their duo identity with which they have released one album so far and are currently writing the second funded by PRS - a collection of new compositions - songs without words mixing contemporary minimalism with flavours of Indian and british folk, inhabiting an often meditative melodic space.
