    Description

    The Vernon Spring
The Vernon Spring aka Sam Beste continues his longstanding residency series at Servant Jazz Quarters. Throughout the residency Sam has been experimenting with material new and old in search of a sound that feels like home. This solo departure comes after many years of producing records with his band Hejira, soulstress Tawiah, string duo Fran & Flora and others, many of which are part of the Lima Limo collective he co-founded. Sam has also been in demand as a pianist and writer for other artists including Amy Winehouse, Matthew Herbert, and most recently Leon Vynehall and Kano. In conjunction with the residency The Vernon Spring has been releasing a series of singles, which continues this month with his beautiful take on a James Blake song.

    Isaac Lee-Kronick

Looks like a school kid sounds like the devil, Isaac Lee-Kronick inhabits in a world where classic songwriting and hooky melodies are king, and atmospheric production is their trusty advisor. He likes to sing low, he likes to sing high, and occasionally offer a brief but zealous guitar solo if the mood is right. Influences include David Bowie, Supertramp, Kanye and The Blue Nile but he doesn’t sound like any of them.
