Description

Experience The Sunday Boys in a special preview performance before the choir takes this vibrant programme on tour to Various Voices 2026.

Join Greater Manchester’s award-winning LGBTQ+ choir, The Sunday Boys, for a vibrant and emotionally rich evening of music as they prepare to perform at Various Voices, Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ choir festival. This special concert offers audiences a chance to experience The Sunday Boys’ tour repertoire before they head to Brussels.

The evening will showcase two strikingly different programmes, highlighting the choir’s versatility, energy and distinctive sound. The first explores the depth and beauty of British folk music, weaving together traditional influences and contemporary voices. Expect music inspired by the landscapes and stories of Britain, with works by celebrated composers including Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten sitting alongside modern folk-inspired writing from artists such as Alex Etchart and Manchester-based musician Joy Becker.

The second half shifts gears entirely, as a smaller ensemble from the choir presents a high-energy set of contemporary a cappella pop. Drawing from favourites across The Sunday Boys’ repertoire, the programme promises bold harmonies, theatrical flair and plenty of personality, featuring iconic music by artists including Scissor Sisters, Tori Amos and Kate Bush.

The concert will also feature the world premiere of I, Trespass, a powerful new work by Fraz Ireland based on poetry by Ella Otomewo, offering audiences the chance to hear a brand-new piece performed for the very first time.

From stirring folk harmonies to exhilarating pop arrangements, this promises to be an uplifting and unforgettable evening celebrating queer creativity, musical storytelling and the power of collective voice.

Book now and enjoy a free glass of prosecco or orange juice on arrival to start the gig in style.
