The Star Bazaar Burlesque Show

A thrilling evening of burlesque, cabaret, comedy, dance, movies and music, featuring some of the most exciting performers on the UK cabaret scene and hosted by our very own proprietor, The Shop Keeper, who will be your guide through this night of curiosities and oddity.

The shop's grand opening will be taking place on Saturday the 21st of November 2015 where the doors will open at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7.30pm prompt.

ABIGAIL COLLINS

• -After expelling herself from The Royal Ballet School, pint-sized powerhouse Abigail Collins has become well known on the cabaret circuit for her multi-tasking mix of comedy and circus and an uncanny ability to push the envelope well past its sticking point. Whether dancing Swan Lake on traffic cones as her Russian diva Katinka, or hooping up a storm as Angel Rodriguez, Brooklyn's answer to Beyoncé, Abigail's work is skilful, sexy and very, very silly. EVA FOX

• -Eva Fox is a vocal vixen, with a captivating voice and charismatic charm... and a mouth like a sailor! She backed Ray Lewis of The Drifters at the tender age of 16, and has since gone on to sing on many stages such as The Lowry Theatre, Empire Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Volupte, Madame Jojo's, Preston Pride and more! Eva draws on a number of influences, including soul and blues, and she swears she wants to rock your socks off!

HAVANA HURRICANE

• -Havana Hurricane is the shimmy shakin', earthquakin' whirlwind who's guaranteed to blow you away! Taking the globe by storm Havana is an international burlesque performer with a vivacious take on good old fashioned Bump 'n' Grind. With a repertoire of show stopping acts, elaborate costumes and a Hollywood smile Havana Hurricane sure knows how to capture an audience and have them eating out of the palm of her hand.

VERITY GREY

• -Verity Grey is an award-winning burlesque starlet based in the Midlands who, since her burlesque debut in June 2013, continues to sweep the audience off their feet with her captivating routines, and natural charm. Not only is she elegant, enticing and graceful as a performer, but she oozes passion and finesse, which shines through as she first steps foot on stage. She will capture your heart and put you on the edge of your seat with her unique, elegant take on classic burlesque.

STARLA BRIGHT

• -The Star Bazaar’s very own starlet and ‘Bubble Gum Beauty Queen’ Starla Bright has been performing her unique brand of cheesecake comedy burlesque on the UK cabaret since 2009. With a cheeky feel, reminiscent of Carry-On film style humour; the characters and stories told in Starla’s burlesque acts are always amusing, and sure to entertain.

The venue is less than one mile from junction 30 of the M1. The address is The Footloose Dance Centre, Church Street, Barlborough, North Chesterfield, Derbyshire S43 4ER.

Directions:

• -From Junction 30 of the M1 take the A616 (signposted towards Newark/ Worksop)
• -Turn left at the first roundabout; taking the A619 Worksop Road (signposted towards Worksop/Barlborough Village)
• -The Footloose Dance Centre is on the next roundabout, just across the way from the De Rodes Arms pub. It is a pretty stone building that was once a Church Institute.

Parking:

The venue itself only has a small car park, but there is additional space to be found nearby in a large lay-by area just beyond the De Rodes Arms pub on the A619 Worksop Road.
