Do you know your mezcal from your peaty whisky? Whether you're a smoke fiend or have just discovered the delights of a peaty dram, if you like things smoky, this is the tasting for you!
Our hosts for the evening are whisky ambassador Stefanie Holt and agave expert Gabriela Moncada. Stef and Gaby will lead us through three pairings of whisky and mezcal, talking about the similarities and differences in their flavour and production. They will end with a fourth, tasted blind: can you guess which is which?
The contenders are:
- Nikka Pure Malt Black vs Derrumbes Oaxaca
- Derrumbes Michoacan vs Port Askaig 100°
- Nikka Yoichi vs La Venenosa Costa
- Blind tasting of mezcal and peaty whisky
This is sure to be a fun tasting where you will discover the delights of mezcal and peaty whiskies.
