The Shed challenges listeners with an ever-changing list of performers that the minds behind Smitty’s have curated to entertain and enlighten. You may think that going to see a classical accordionist or Indian Sarod player is out of your comfort zone, but trust that the Smitty’s team won’t lead you astray. The Shed is always forward thinking, but most importantly, always good.
After receiving an expensive MFA in Fiction from Columbia University, Mishka Shubaly promptly realized he was more interested in playing music in dive bars than writing. He lived out of a Toyota minivan for a year, touring non-stop, and shared the stage with artists like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Decemberists among others. He's since become a cult favourite, and in 2011, Shubaly began publishing a series of wildly successful mini-memoirs via Amazon Kindle Singles (six #1bestsellers, more than 200,000 copies sold in five different languages). His recent roadwork— 50 shows in 60 days in 3 countries— has won him accolades from Portland,OR to New York.
