Presenting a night with The Reliables who introduce you to the world of contemporary music working increasingly with loops. Musical recurring statements are cycled while melody lines are drawn across the arrangement to alter the underlying foundation to the listener‘s ear. Jazz plays with musical ideas and looks ahead as well as back.
The Reliables have taken up this invitation to be playful with musical loops and have written new material that uses musical building blocks from around the world. From African dance grooves to contemplative Japanese modes to Latin American rhythms, Dave Barrow‘s saxophones and flute and Robert Pfeiffer‘s guitar/banjo/bass interplay arrangements and improvisations in communication are coupled with software triggered loops. A musical travel fuelled by state of the art technology and jazzy playfulness.
