The Psychedelic Society of MCR Presents: The Past, Present and Future of Drug Prohibition
On the 20th of November, the Psychedelic Society will be hosting its final event of the year: an evening event on the past, present and future of drug prohibition.
Author and historian Andy Roberts will be discussing the origins of the UK prohibitions on Psychedelic drugs and their medicinal use, Neil Woods, from the group Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, will be talking about his 14 years of experience as an undercover police officer and first-hand experience of both the futility and unintended consequences of drug-law policing, and Dr. Melissa Bone will be discussing whether a Human Rights perspective can help us move forward to more progressive and health focused policies.
There will also be a question and answer session to facilitate a group discussion on these issues for those in attendance.
We think this is going to be a fascinating event for those concerned with where we are in relation to drug laws, where we’ve been and where we could be going, and we hope to see you there!
