The Psychedelic Society is a new UK organisation bringing together people fascinated by and appreciative of psychedelic substances including psilocybin (found in magic mushrooms), DMT (found in ayahuasca), mescaline (found in peyote and San Pedro cacti), LSD and 2C-B. The main aim of the Society is for psychedelics to be made available for careful personal and medical use.
Since our launch in November, 6,000 people have signed up for updates, we've gathered 10,000 followers on Facebook and set up 5 local groups across the country.
Bristol is the newest local group! For the launch event, we are delighted to welcome:
* David Nutt, Professor of Neuropsychopharmacology at Imperial College London, former head of the ACMD and chair of DrugScience
* Ben Sessa, medical doctor with specialist training in mental health, author of several books including “The Psychedelic Renaissance” and co-founder and chair of the Breaking Convention conference on psychedelics
* Stephen Reid, founder and director of the Psychedelic Society
Speakers will give short presentations followed by Q&A. Stick around afterwards to chat and start building the psychedelic community in Bristol!
