Hailing from sunny Newcastle, The Old Pink House are a self-described “cosmic pop” quartet. In reality, that’s underselling it - their music is a swirling mass of immediate hooks, remorseful lyrics and cascading synths, undergirded with a propulsive rhythm section. Originally envisioned as a bedroom project by frontman and singer-songwriter Christopher Brown, the addition of Harry Smith (bass), Max Middleton (drums) and James Grant (keys) completed the lineup and served to transform Brown’s scrappy home demos into powerful, affecting anthems. This has led the band to early backing from Radio 1 and Spotify, and support slots with the likes of globe conquering artists like Foals, Manic Street Preachers, The Cribs and more.
