    Description

Debt informs everything we do, yet nobody really understands it. Whether its on a personal or a collective level - a culture of debt has been created with people, companies and countries spending beyond their means. This has effects both on a micro and macro level, and is believed to also have played a crucial role in creating the crash of 2007, which is still continuing with augmented consequences.

Because debt has become so focused on finance, and because finance has become the preserve of an ever smaller and smaller section of society, and that section not only manages the financial side and political side of our lives, it carries connotations of unjust and unaccountable levels of interest - something that we are trapped in and where we have no control. Modern consumer economies run on debt, and states run on deficit financing, which ultimately causes a huge monetary debt bureaucracy.

Can debt ever be a positive thing for growth?

What can we learn from our previous mistakes?

Are there requirements for more or less regulation?

Can a new type of economy impact the socio-economic phenomena?
