Description

In the last century, nearly half of all Scotland’s whisky distilleries have closed or been lost forever. We feel it’s a tragedy. It has inspired us to rediscover these lost legends from our home on the Dumfries House estate. This stunning 18th-Century house and estate in Ayrshire, was saved by His Royal Highness, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay. Dumfries House and The Lost Distillery Company share a spirit of revival and roots in this beautiful corner of Scotland.

There are no long forgotten old warehouses of old whisky. The answer to what we do lies in the history books. Our dedicated team of archivist’s study historical records to piece together the life and time of the lost distillery. Using these findings, our expert nosing and tasting panel create a taste profile we feel we’d be enjoying from these legends if they were alive today.

We then marry carefully chosen single-malt whiskies together to match the character and flavour of the legendary distillery. The result is an expertly crafted, unique Blended Malt Scotch Whisky worth savouring. We think they’re special and hope you do too.

This event is suitable for people over the age of 18 only. This is an educational tasting event and as such the measures served will be approx 10-15ml rather than a standard 25ml measure.

Venue

The Drouthy Cobbler, 48 a High St, IV30 1BU Elgin
