Squeeeel! Come join Yelp, Petpiggies and Farms Not Factories at The Proud Archivist for London's first ever pig picnic! Expect a picnic with the most adorable litter of new born piglets London has ever seen, with a night of food, drinks and pig education.
Obviously, bacon is off the menu for this event.
*ABOUT THE EVENT*
What: Yelp, Petpiggies, Farms Not Factories and The Proud Archivist presents The London Pop-Up Pignic!
When: May 21 - 22, Thursday and Friday, 6 to 10pm
May 23 - 25, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, 2 to 6pm
Price: £30 per ticket, which will include the full evening, including local high animal welfare food, a piggy themed cocktail, pig themed education and activities, and time with the most adorable litter of new born piglets you've ever seen. Money from every ticket sold will go to Farms Not Factories (more below!), who are working at this event as an independent organisation.
This will not just be a sit-down experience but a multi-room, piggy educational evening. Yelp will be working with both Farms and Factories campaign and PetPiggies to educate about pigs.
PetPiggies want to make it clear that a potential journey towards pet pig ownership must start with realistic size expectations. Farms Not Factories will speak about the true costs of factory farmed meat on pig welfare, human health and the environment. This is where Yelp, Petpiggies, Farms Not Factories and The Proud Archivist will work to educate the public at The Pignic in the hope that fewer pet pigs will end up being abandoned or cruelly treated in animal factories.
And of course, all food will be from a high-welfare happy animal farm.
RSVP here for just yourself or you and a +1 and let us know which date(s) you'd be able to attend. We will let you know if you've snagged a spot in early May!
More to come... Get ready to pig out, London!

ABOUT YELP :
Yelp is an online urban city guide that helps people find cool places to eat, shop, drink, relax and play, based on the informed opinions of a vibrant and active community of locals in the know. Yelp is the fun and easy way to find, review and talk about what's great -- and not so great -- in your world.
Yelp is hosting this picnic as a way to bring together two things Londoners love: pigs and picnics!
ABOUT THE EVENT PARTNERS:
PetPiggies: Petpiggies are based in Ridgmont, Bedfordshire and breed some of the smallest pet pigs in the world. These pigs are known in the media as micro, mini or tea cup pigs. Their pigs are often the first choice of professionals working in Television, Film and Digital media. They are fully licensed and humanely work with these animals that they love. (petpiggies.co.uk)
The Proud Archivist: Situated on Regent's Canal near Haggerston Overground Station, The Proud Archivist is a combined gallery, bar, restaurant, cafe and events space, serving fabulous food and drink in a beautiful setting. (theproudarchivist.co.uk)
ABOUT OUR NON-PROFIT PARTNER:
Farms Not Factories: A non-profit organisation working through film-making and campaigning to expose the true costs of cheap meat from animal factories. Pigs are abused through; permanent confinement in overcrowded pens with barren concrete floors, mutilation, neglect and denial of natural behaviour resulting in stress and disease. They have to be routinely given antibiotics just to keep them alive. This leads to antibiotic resistant superbugs that will bring an end to antibiotics as a cure for human diseases.
Farms Not Factories is working in an educational capacity with Yelp on The London Pignic to show people that pigs are intelligent and sociable animals. They believe that better information is vital - whether people are buying pigs as pets or pork to eat. If people saw pigs as pets, like dogs or cats, they would be happy to pay a fair price to the family farmers whose methods care for pigs, public health and the environment. Using the power of our purse to buy high welfare pork, we will we see the end of animal factories.
