Description
The Lock Tavern Festival returns for its second year this Easter bank holiday weekend in association with Lanzarote, Field Day and Beacons Metro.
Last year's maiden voyage knees-up featured the likes of Big Deal & Girl Band, and Time Out dubbed the festival "easily the best way to spend your Easter weekend." This year, the Lock Tavern will be upping the ante with a whole host of talent including The Voyeurs, and Flowers, presenting a free-entry, four day blast of musical goodness.
The most exciting new and current live bands and electronic acts, DJs til 3am every night, pop up food in our famous garden.

Thursday
London threesome Flowers wowed with their haymaker of a debut, the glossy Do What You Want To, It's What You Should Do. They'll be popping down The Lock on Thursday for the first night of the festival, dishing out their own special brand of irresistible indie with lashings of noise.
Jagaara are a North London trio consisting of three sisters, Jane, Ruth & Cat. Casting all sibling rivalries aside, this loveable three-piece's shiny hybrid pop has been making waves in the capital and beyond. The girls have been teasing us with bits and bobs from their EP Faultline/Heartbeats, which seems a mix of icy synths, folky pop and harmony-laden loveliness.
C Duncan is a classically trained musician, and it bloody shows. The Glaswegian multi-instrumentalist's sound sits on the wall somewhere between dreamy lo-fi and heavily textured contemporary- classical gloriousness. If that's even a thing. C Duncan will be breezing by to show The Lock what's what.
Brighton boy-girl-boy outfit Our Girl will be coming through for the first night with a hearty dose of lush and starry-eyed indie pop, just the way it should be.
Friday
London based singer-songwriter and producer William Arcane will be joining us down at The Lock for our second annual Festival to do what he does best. Unimpeachable first EP Permanence set the tone of things to come, and Arcane is increasingly regarded as one of the most mysterious and talented in the game. Sultry and imaginative.
Post Louis are a thunderous six piece based around the partnership of Stephanie Davin and guitarist Rob Stern, who once graced Cajun Dance Party. Post-Louis have put their own spin on the classic 1990s indie sound, bringing something new to the table without being drowned in nostalgia. Their 2013 single This Could Be A Bridge turned heads and won hearts, with Devlin's crisp and clear vocals shining over the group's inventive twist on that old-school slacker sound.
Saturday
Formerly known as Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs, The Voyeurs first burst onto the scene a couple of years back, with the gloriously scuzzy debut Clarietta, produced by Orange Juice veteran Edwyn Collins. The acclaimed follow-up Rhubarb Rhubarb was released at the tail end of last year, further cementing their position as likely lads of 2015. Charlie and chums will be doing what they do best this bank holiday when they darken the Lock Tavern's doors.
Prom are the filthiest surf-rock band to come out of London, well…. ever. Like a nose-breaking, sand-in- your-mouth kick in the face in a beach bar brawl, this is neo-surf at its most menacing, visceral and thrilling. Sounds about right for the Saturday.
Skinny Girl Diet have been making serious waves recently with their brash, unafraid and riotous grunge.
The Drink are a London trio who straddle the boundaries between dreamy pop, contemporary folk and weird indie. Their own description of the sound, (Odd Dark Folk Pop) fits like a glove. The Drink's debut album Company was met with rapturous response from the music press and listeners alike, and the band have been tipped as ones to watch this coming year– come and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
Sunday
Lazy Day (or Tilly Scantlebury to her Mum,) is perhaps best known as one quarter of Hella Better Dancer. Recently, she has been making a racket in her own right. As Lazy Day, Tilly has crafted a rich and beguiling sound whilst demonstrating some serious songwriting chops in the process.
Pinact are recent signees to Brooklyn label Kanine, home to Surfer Blood and Grizzly Bear. They make an emotive indie-grunge racket and we're very excited to have them down from their Native Glasgow for our eclectic Sunday line up.
Aside from all this great music, there will be fantastic street food for all tastes in the garden, kindly provided by London pop-up favourites Mama's Jerk Station, Made Of Dough and Spit & Roast plus more to be announced.
The House Of Hot Breath will be out in full force, adding to the Festival atmosphere with their own crazy fun and games.
It isn't all about those chocolate eggs.
See you next month!
