ABOUT THE WHISKEY EXCHANGE

The Whisky Exchange was founded in 1999, and has since grown to be the internet’s number-one specialist retailer of whisky and other spirits. They are constantly trying to find new products with genuine heritage and quality in all categories of spirits and liqueurs to add to their range.

The Whisky Exchange currently stocks nearly 3,500 whiskies, of which about 2,300 are single malt Scotch whiskies, with 250 bourbons available and the remainder being made up of blended Scotch, grain, Irish, Japanese and other whiskies from countries including Wales, South Africa, India, Sweden and Australia.

In addition to this, there are more than 500 rums, around 400 vodkas, more than 550 Cognacs/Armagnacs, 400 gins, 150 Tequilas and nearly 1,000 specialist liqueurs.

The Whisky Exchange has won a string of industry awards, including Independent Spirits Retailer of the Year and Whisky Magazine’s Online Retailer of the Year.

ABOUT DAWN DAVIES MW

With responsibility for selecting and buying the vast majority of products for The Whisky Exchange, Dawn Davies MW has possibly one of the best jobs in the world. Her ongoing quest to find the very best spirits in every category epitomises the company’s philosophy. Davies started out in the wine industry straight from university. Unsure of what to do, she landed a job in a restaurant. She soon became one of the country’s first female sommeliers and enjoyed stints at some of the capital’s best restaurants including Zuma, Boxwood, The Square and The Ledbury.

Davies found her legs as a buyer during her nine years in charge of the wine, spirits and beer department at luxury retailer Selfridges, and won a series of drinks retailing awards for her pioneering approach. She now oversees buying for The Whisky Exchange as well as parent company, on-trade wholesaler, Speciality Drinks.
