Description
Inspire children and young people to explore the wonderful world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) this summer at the IET’s virtual Engineering Open House Day (EOHD), featuring BAFTA award winning STEM presenter and YouTuber Maddie Moate and Science Presenter, Podcaster and YouTuber Greg Foot.
Watch and take part in a whole range of interactive programmes and demonstrations, including an all-day live online show from 10am-3pm - jam packed with cool experiments, special guests and follow along at home demonstrations, it’s not to be missed! Throughout the day the IET will be providing exclusive access to a huge range of organisations to show the creativity behind engineering careers and the important role that engineers play in everyday life.
The event will bring together 40 companies across the UK and internationally including Apple, TfL, Thameswater, Tower Bridge, Rocketmakers, F1 and many more.
From the opportunity to design and create your own app with Apple live (event 11:30am-1pm), to an in-show session showing kids how to build and launch their very own rocket or even generate hydro-electric power through a water wheel, there’s something for kids of all ages and interests. Other activities taking place throughout the day include the Aberdeen Science Centre ‘Super Solvers: Virtual Escape Room’ – tune in at 10:30am to discover how to write and debug code to control an animated Tower Bridge – and the ‘Kids Against Plastic’ in show demonstration on how to save energy around the home.
