Description
Ever asked yourself what the world would be like if we knew more about our food system and the faces behind it?
As part of the European Week for Waste Reduction, environmental charity Hubbub has teamed up with the Empathy Museum to explore our society's relationship with food, its abundance and its wastage, in the widest possible sense.
On Saturday 28th of November we are opening the doors to "The Human Library of Food" in the Brunei Suite at SOAS Campus, Central London.
Curated by the Empathy Museum, the "Human Library of Food" contains a unique collection of human "books" - representatives of different stages of our food's journey from the plot to the plate, and beyond.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to "speed date" their way through butchers, foragers, chefs, foodcycle volunteers and many more. There will be time for mingling - browsing - through the "Living Books" at the end of the session.
This event is a part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), an initiative aimed at raising awareness about sustainable resource and waste management. This event was commissioned by the North London Waste Authority & organised in partnership with Hubbub.
Keep up to date with the #GIFTOFWASTE on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook.
