TOM WRIGGLESWORTH. With a disarmingly charming delivery and unforgettable appearance, this Yorkshire funny man became a national have-a-go-hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of a Virgin train ticket inspector; only to be arrested for begging.
His subsequent story of the event secured Tom several awards including the Chortle Best Show Award, and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Comedy Award. This led to a sell out tour of the UK, and runs at the New Zealand Comedy Festival and prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival.
Following this, Tom recorded two series of ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters’ for BBC Radio 4, tackling consumer issues in his own hilarious way and winning a highly acclaimed Sony Award for best Radio Comedy along the way.
His next radio project, ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Hang Ups’ for BBC Radio 4 is currently in its second series and focuses on telephone conversations with his parents.
As a natural and engaging television presenter, Tom put his technical background to use when he appeared on ‘Electric Dreams’ for BBC 2, advising a modern family as they fast forwarded through three decades of technology.
He then presented Engineering Giants, also for BBC 2, which saw Tom climbing aboard an oil platform, servicing a passenger ferry and dismantling a jumbo-jet whilst interviewing various engineers to keep the viewers informed as the three major strip downs unfolded.
Further television credits include being a regular contributor on The Discovery Channel where he explains the science behind crowd sourced stunts and experiments on the popular show ‘You have been warned’
TV also includes ‘Edinburgh Comedy Show’ and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and radio credits include the Sony Award winning Radio 4 show ‘Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters’.
“Destined for the dizzy heights” NME “The ultimate crowd pleaser” The Guardian
“Comedy giant…Tom Wrigglesworth is definitely one of the big name comedians of the future” Time Out
BETHANY BLACK is Britain's only goth, lesbian, transsexual, vegan comedian.
Her first gigs were as a compere for a music club in Preston, where she provided comedy between the music acts. After a hostile reaction, she moved onto actual comedy clubs.
2005 saw Black opening the Manchester Pride festival. She also became a supporting act for other comedians such as Mick Miller and attracted positive reviews from other comedians such as Brendon Burns. In 2007, she became a finalist in the Chortle Student Comedy Awards. 2008 saw the first outing of her childhood - "Beth Becomes Her" and this show was nominated as "Best Debut" at the Leicester Comedy Festival.
2015 saw television jumping on the Beth bandwagon when she played Helen Brears in Channel 4's Cucumber, as well as appearing in an episode of E4 sister series Banana. Casting directors were clearly impressed as Black went on to guest star as 474 in Doctor Who, alongside Reece Shearsmith, Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman. As a lifelong Doctor Who fan, Black was pretty impressed too!
Familiar to audiences for Big Brother's Bit on the Side, STEPHEN BAILEY, is making a stir on the comedy circuit by being fun, charming and sassy. A skilled improviser, Stephen is 'annoyingly sharp' (The New Current) which made him perfect choice to be first ever MC at Stonewall's Summer Party. He regularly contributes articles to Attitude magazine and this year was nominated for the Amused Moose Comedy Award (Best Show) at the Edinburgh Fringe.
2015 saw Stephen take his award-nominated show Stephen Bailey: Should've Been a Popstar on a sell out tour of Europe, as well as supporting Katherine Ryan on her UK tour.
As well as being a panellist on both Big Brother's Bit on the Side and Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side Stephen has been the warm up acts for ITV's Loose Women
