Nick Revell started off behind the scenes as a writer on seminal TV series 'Not The Nine O'Clock News' as well as writing gags for Jasper Carrot and Rory Bremner. The lure of the limelight probed too much though and he was soon on stage himself telling the gags he had written.
Nick has made numerous TV appearances in Britain, Canada and the United States, and career highlights include being nominated for a Perrier Award and writing and appearing on the ground breaking Channel 4 sitcom 'Drop the Dead Donkey'.
His live act encompasses satire, a scarily accurate Winston Churchill performance and a one man impression of the dawn chorus that is considered to be one of the best finales in the business.
"Satirically brilliant. Travel miles to see him" The Guardian "Sharp satirist.. .Superb comic"" Time Out
Since 2010 Fern Brady has quickly established herself as one of the sharpest new acts on the comedy circuit by becoming a finalist in a number of high profile competitions, including So You Think You’re Funny?, New Act of the Year and Piccadilly Comedy New Act of the Year.
Fern has recently been selected as the newest act to appear on the second series of Stewart Lee’s The Alternative Comedy Experience due to broadcast on Comedy Central in early 2014.
Prior to entering comedy Fern was an award-nominated journalist and still contributes opinion pieces to The Guardian online. She has also spoken about politics and class on BBC Radio 5 Live, appeared on Newsnight and is currently working on a number of projects for Radio 4.
“Fern Brady is developing a potent identity with her gravelly attacks upon the delicate boundaries of modern taste…a fearsome originality and a torrent of arresting and disturbing imagery.” Scotland on Sunday
“Wicked, close to the bone gags and a classy poise that showed she’s no stranger to the stage. What gave her the edge, though, was her closing routine on foxes in the Daily Mail – smart, sharp and the sort of material from which she could build a whole winning show.” The Stage
“Crackles with fire, has beautiful timing, perfectly pitched delivery and great gags to boot…has the air about her of a woman going places.” The Scotsman
“obnoxious, rude and utterly brilliant” ThreeWeeks
Jack Campbell is a hardworking and hilarious comedian who reached new heights in 2014 when he was outright winner of the English Comedian of the Year Competition. Not that Jack is any stranger to taking home the trophy - the Nottingham Comedy Festival Best Newcomer of 2012 sits on his mantlepiece already.
Jack is based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and drives all over the UK to perform. Paid MC, opener and middle work for Tickled Pig, OiOi Comedy, Funhouse Comedy, TenFeetTall and Pulp Comedy. Headliner at Comedy Estonia. As well as his high profile competition wins he has also been runner up in both the Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year 2014 & Tickled Pig Student Competition Runner 2012
"Jack Campbell secured the English Comedian Of The Year title by offering up the most original take on things, even though by wider standards he's still a fairly traditional act. As a former teacher, he too had run-ins with streetwise youth, and the childishness of their banter is entertainingly described" - Chortle
Preston based, award-winning comedian Freddy Quinne's "uniquely northern observational humour" (Lancashire Evening Post) has seen a meteoric rise into some of the biggest clubs in the country. Quinne mixes clever, perfectly timed material, together with a vulnerable yet acerbic persona for a unique experience, combining for "a real tour de force performance" (Alex Boardman). His willingness to break away from his set and involve the crowd leads for an engaging and memorable set backed up with frantic energy and raw emotion.
In 2014 Freddy was MC for the late show for the Big Value Show at the Edinburgh Fringe, one of the most prestigious showcases at the festival. He also MC'd a showcase for online magazine and comedy reviewers The Skinny, as part of the Liverpool Comedy Festival. He currently acts as a resident MC for over half a dozen comedy nights across the country as well as regularly compering some of the biggest comedy venues in the UK, including Gag Reflex, Just the Tonic and Hot Water Comedy Club.
The Hilarity Bites New Act of the Year winner (2013) has an equally exciting 2015 lined up performing at Jongleurs, Manford Comedy Clubs and a return to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Show starts 8pm with the doors opening at 7.45pm Admission is £8.50 but we strongly advise advance tickets. These are available online and from behind the bar. We are unable to reserve tickets unless they have been paid for.
